I have carried a 25 cal. Beretta but traded it for a S&W 38 for concealed carry some years ago. My brother and I bought PF-9s. The day we bought them we went to the range. I was very comfortable with my 38 and was worried about working the slide on the PF-9. A few rounds and a bulls eye later I am confident that this was a good choice for me. I have recommended it to some of my female friends and my brother is looking to purchase one for his wife.
